Investigation Type
Investigation Request
If status is Closed, it represents investigation matters for which a notice/order has not been issued and the matter is no longer under investigation.
If status is not Closed, it represents an investigation matter for which a notice/order has not been issued but may still be issued in due course.
Violation - Investigation Requests
If status is Closed, it represents investigation matters for which a notice/order has been issued but the matter is no longer under investigation.
If status is not Closed, it represents investigation matters for which a notice/order has been issued and the matter remains outstanding.

Status
The current investigation status based on the latest documentation/input. Refer to Investigation Detail screen Current Status listing.
Investigation#
The reference investigation/file number.
 
Investigation Detail Screen
Notice / Order Date
The date a Notice of Violation or Order was issued to the owner/occupant of a property that is the subject of an investigation. Either document includes specific detail of the noted violation/deficiency under the relevant by-law.
Next Inspection
This date represents the next scheduled inspection of the subject property.
Expiry Date
This represents the date that a Notice / Order will expire. The property owner/occupant has until this date to achieve compliance with the by-law.
Issue
This section will describe the applicable subject matter of the investigation request/violation.
Assessed / Mailing
Address
The subject property/location of the investigation request/violation.
Description
This section provides a description of the investigation request/violation as received / entered into the system by ML&S.
# of Deficiencies
The numeric digit in this field represents the number of deficiencies cited in a Notice of Violation/Order.
 
Current Status
Closed
Investigation matters that have been complied with or are no longer being pursued by the City for compliance.
Cancelled
Investigation matters that have been cancelled prior to initiating any action.
Rescheduled
Investigation matters that have been rescheduled for further inspection activity/other action.
City Action Initiated
The City has initiated steps to achieve compliance through remedial action.
City Action Final
The City has undertaken remedial action to affect compliance to an order.
Investigation Complete-
Remedial Action Taken
Compliance to a by-law matter has been achieved through the actions of City staff / City contracted services.
Prosecution Initiated
The City has commenced legal action against the property owner / occupant for failing to comply with a Notice of Violation / Order.
Order to Comply Appealed
The property owner has exercised their right of appeal of an Order to the Property Standards Committee and/or the Superior Court of Justice of Ontario.
Expiry Date Extended
The expiry date of an Order has been changed as a result of the outcome of an appeal or the re-inspection date has been revised by the officer.
