Toronto Parking Authority - 2019 Recommended Operating Budget, 2019 - 2028 Recommended Capital Budget and Plan

Notice is hereby given that Toronto City Council will be considering the Toronto Parking Authority – 2019 Recommended Operating Budget, 2019 - 2028 Recommended Capital Budget and Plan.

No specific rate increases are being recommended at this time, however, the appropriate Committee may change this recommendation and Toronto City Council may adopt different rates, including rates that are higher or lower than current, and may adopt new rates.

The Budget Committee has established two subcommittees to hear public deputations on the 2019 Capital and Operating Budgets. The Budget Subcommittee for City Hall, and North York Civic Centre Consultation and the Budget Subcommittee for Scarborough Civic Centre and Etobicoke Civic Centre Consultation will receive presentations from any person, or their counsel, agent or solicitor, who wishes to speak to the matter at one of the following meetings:

To make a presentation at one of the Budget Subcommittee meetings on February 7 or 11, 2019, please email buc@toronto.ca or call 416-392-4666 no later than 12:00 p.m. February 6, 2019. Presentations will be limited to 5 minutes per person, unless the Committee decides otherwise. Written comments may be submitted to the Budget Committee, by email buc@toronto.ca, by fax 416-392-2980 or by mail addressed to:

Any comments received after the Committee meetings will be forwarded to City Council.

The Budget Committee will make its final recommendations on February 20, 2019, which will be forwarded for consideration by the Executive Committee at its meeting on March 4, 2019 and then to City Council at its meeting on March 7, 2019.

While the 2019 Recommended Operating Budget, 2019 - 2028 Recommended Capital Budget and Plan sets out the recommended fees, the appropriate Committee may change these recommendations and Toronto City Council may adopt rates that differ from the recommendations, including fees that are higher or lower than the fees being proposed, and may adopt new fees not contemplated in the 2019 Recommended Operating Budget, 2019 - 2028 Recommended Capital Budget and Plan.

If this matter is postponed at the Committee meeting or Council meeting or considered at a subsequent Committee meeting, no additional notice will be provided other than the information on the subsequent Committee or Council agenda.  Please contact the above noted City official if you require notice in these cases.

The City of Toronto Act, 2006 and the City of Toronto Municipal Code authorize the City of Toronto to collect any personal information in your communication or presentation to City Council or its committees. The City collects this information to enable it to make informed decisions on the relevant issue(s). If you are submitting letters, faxes, e-mails, presentations or other communications to the City, you should be aware that your name and the fact that you communicated with the City will become part of the public record and will appear on the City’s website. The City will also make your communication and any personal information in it - such as your postal address, telephone number or e-mail address - available to the public, unless you expressly request the City to remove it.

 

Many Committee, Board, and Advisory Body meetings are broadcast live over the internet for the public to view. If you speak at the meeting you will appear in the video broadcast. Video broadcasts are archived and continue to be publicly available.

Closed Meeting Requirements: If the Committee wants to meet in closed session (privately), a Committee member must make a motion to do so and give the reason why the Committee has to meet privately (City of Toronto Act, 2006).
