CA10.4 - Rooming House Licensing Commissioner/Deputy Commissioner - Appointments

City Council Decision

City Council on October 24 and 25, 2011, adopted the following:

 

1.         City Council appoint the individual listed in Confidential Attachment 1 as the Rooming House Licensing Commissioner, at the pleasure of Council, for a term of office ending on November 30, 2014 and until a successor is appointed.

 

2.         City Council appoint the individual listed in Confidential Attachment 1 as the Deputy Rooming House Licensing Commissioner, at the pleasure of Council, for a term of office ending on November 30, 2014 and until a successor is appointed.

 

3.         City Council authorize the City Clerk to make the appointees' names public once appointed by Council and the appointees have been notified.

 

4.         City Council authorize and direct the City Solicitor to introduce any necessary bills needed to give effect to the appointments.

 

5.         City Council direct the City Manager to report to the Executive Committee on best practices for Agencies, Boards and Commissions in maintaining continuity and institutional memory with new Board appointments for the Rooming House Licensing Commissioner/Deputy Commissioner.

 

6.         City Council direct the City Clerk to send letters to all incumbents, who applied but were not interviewed and appointed, by November 4, 2011 thanking them for their contribution.

Committee Recommendations

The Civic Appointments Committee recommends that:

 

1.         City Council appoint the individual listed in Confidential Attachment 1 as the Rooming House Licensing Commissioner, at the pleasure of Council, for a term of office ending on November 30, 2014 and until a successor is appointed.

 

2.         City Council appoint the individual listed in Confidential Attachment 1 as the Deputy Rooming House Licensing Commissioner, at the pleasure of Council, for a term of office ending on November 30, 2014 and until a successor is appointed.

 

3.         City Council authorize the City Clerk to make the appointees' names public once appointed by Council and the appointees have been notified.
