City Council Decision
City Council on September 21 and 22, 2011, adopted the following:
1. City Council appoint the candidate listed in Confidential Attachment 1 to the Toronto Port Authority Board of Directors, at the pleasure of Council, for a three year term effective December 4, 2011 and until a successor is appointed.
2. City Council authorize the City Clerk to make the appointee's name public once appointed by Council and the appointee has been notified.
3. City Council identify the candidate listed in Confidential Attachment 2 as an alternate for the Civic Appointments Committee to consider for appointment should a vacancy occur during the term.
4. City Council direct that the name of the candidate identified as an alternate remain confidential until appointed as a member, as required under the Public Appointments Policy.
City Council has appointed the following person to the Toronto Port Authority Board of Directors:
- Jim Ginou
Confidential Attachment 2 remains confidential in its entirety at this time, in accordance with the provisions of the City of Toronto Act, 2006, as it contains personal information about an identifiable person. The alternate's name will be made public if appointed to the Toronto Port Authority Board of Directors.

City Council recessed its public session and met as Committee of the Whole in four closed sessions on September 21 and 22, 2011, and considered confidential information on these Items as they relate to personal information about an identifiable individual being considered for appointment.

CA9.5 – Toronto Parking Authority Board of Directors
CA9.6 – Toronto Public Library Board,
and staff be directed to provide the Committee with qualifications summaries and diversity information on the applicants for these boards.
