City Council Decision
City Council on April 12 and 13, 2011, adopted the following:
1. City Council adopt Recommendations 1, 2, 3 and 5 contained in Confidential Attachment 1 (April 11, 2011) from Mayor Rob Ford.
2. City Council direct the confidential instructions adopted by City Council be made public at the discretion of the City Solicitor.
The Confidential instructions adopted by City Council remain confidential in their entirety at this time in accordance with the provisions of the City of Toronto Act, 2006, as they pertain to personal matters about an identifiable individual, including municipal or local board employees and labour relations or employee negotiations. The instructions will be made public at the discretion of the City Solicitor.
Recommendations 1, 2 and 5 were subsequently made public on July 13, 2011:
1. City Council approve the appointment of Mr. Jeffrey Griffiths to the position of Auditor General for a 3-year non-renewable term effective December 17, 2011 with remuneration to continue in the current range and subject to the successful negotiation of an employment agreement.
2. City Council authorize the City Manager to negotiate a 3-year non-renewable employment agreement with the Auditor General and to execute any related documents as necessary.
5. City Council grant authority for the introduction of any necessary bills required to give effect to these recommendations

City Council recessed its public session and met as Committee of the Whole in closed session on April 12, 2011, and considered confidential information on this Item as it deals with personal matters about an identifiable person, labour relations or employee negotiations.
