Committee Decision
The Community Development and Recreation Committee:
1. Requested the Executive Director, Social Development, Finance and Administration and the City Clerk to review and report to the May 23, 2013 meeting of the Community Development and Recreation Committee on the opportunity to have permanent residents in Toronto be given the right to vote in municipal elections, and that the report include the feasibility of implementing this in time for the 2014 municipal election.
2. Requested the Executive Director, Social Development, Finance and Administration to report to the April 17, 2013 meeting of the Community Development and Recreation Committee on a possible Immigration and Refugee Working Group or a similar structure to facilitate the community, staff and Members of Council to be briefed and engaged in advocacy opportunities.
3. Requested the Executive Director, Social Development, Finance and Administration, in consultation with the Newcomer Leadership Table, to review and report to the Community Development and Recreation Committee on adapting the EuroCities Charter on Integrating Cities for the City of Toronto.
4. Received the presentations for information.

Summary
The Immigration and Settlement Panel will provide supplemental expert advice on the issues described in the three reports related to immigration and settlement that are before Community Development and Recreation Committee at its January 31, 2013 meeting.
