Community Council Decision

Etobicoke York Community Council:

 

1.         Requested the Acting Director, Business Services, Economic Development and Culture, to identify and pursue, in consultation with the Councillors for Wards 1, 2, 6 and 7, a potential location within Ward 2 and/or Ward 7 which could be utilized for the relocation and consolidation of concrete production facilities.

 

2.         Requested the Director, Community Planning, Etobicoke York District, and the Acting Director, Business Services, Economic Development and Culture, to consult with the concrete batching operations at 1500-1536 St. Clair Avenue West, 32 and 36 Caledonia Road, and 29 Judson Street in Etobicoke, to encourage them to relocate to the proposed West Concrete Campus.

Summary

This report responds to a request from the Etobicoke York Community Council for

staff from the Economic Development and Culture Division, in consultation with City Planning, Municipal Licensing and Standards, Facilities and Real Estate, Build Toronto, industry representatives and stakeholders, to explore the feasibility and financial mechanisms to encourage the development of "Concrete Campus West " to assist and promote the relocation and consolidation of concrete production facilities.

 

There are currently no available sites in the Etobicoke York Community Council area that have the appropriate as-of-right zoning and size to accommodate multiple concrete production facilities within a concrete campus setting.

That Etobicoke York Community Council:

 

1.         Request the Acting Director, Business Services, Economic Development and Culture, to identify and pursue, in consultation with the Councillor for Ward 7, a potential location within Ward 7 which could be utilized for the relocation and consolidation of concrete production facilities.

 

2.         Request the Director, Community Planning, Etobicoke York District, and the Acting Director, Business Services, Economic Development and Culture, to consult with the concrete batching operations at 1500-1536 St. Clair Avenue West, and 32 and 36 Caledonia Road, to encourage them to relocate to the proposed West Concrete Campus.

            1.         Request the Acting Director, Business Services, Economic Development and Culture, to identify and pursue, in consultation with the Councillors for Wards 1, 2, 6 and 7, a potential location within Ward 2 and/or Ward 7 which could be utilized for the relocation and consolidation of concrete production facilities.

 

2.         adding to Part 2, the concrete batching operation at 29 Judson Street in Etobicoke, so that Part 2 now reads as follows:
