The Planning and Growth Management Committee requested the Chief Planner and Executive Director, City Planning, in consultation with appropriate officials, to report to the Planning and Growth Committee on June 20, 2013 on:
1. a process for establishing the criteria for selecting alignments and station locations for the first phase of the Downtown Relief Line and the subsequent measures to be taken to meet the approval requirements of the Environmental Assessment Act.
2. on the nine other Metrolinx projects for the City of Toronto and confirm that these projects are consistent with the City's priorities for transit.

Summary
The Toronto Transit Commission advises that, at its meeting on Wednesday, October 24, 2012 the Commission considered the report from Chief Financial and Administration Officer, Toronto Transit Commission, entitled “Downtown Rapid Transit Expansion Study (DTRES) Phase 1 Strategic Plan”.
The Toronto Transit Commission adopted the recommendations in the staff report, and also approved the following motions:
1. That future transit expansion plans consider a DRL east of Yonge as a priority, and that study be commenced on the merits of eventually extending the line along the Don Mills corridor to the proposed terminal at Don Mills and Eglinton.
2. That the TTC write a letter, on behalf of the Commission, to the leaders of the Federal Conservative, Liberal, Green and New Democratic Party requesting their plans to meet future public transit ridership demand in the city's downtown core.
3. That the TTC write a letter on behalf of the Commission to the leaders of the Provincial Conservative, Liberal, Green and New Democratic Party requesting their plans to meet future public transit ridership demand in the city's downtown core.
4. That the TTC make the responses publicly available.
5. Request the City Clerk to forward this report, along with the Master Agreement with Metrolinx and Infrastructure Ontario, to the October City Council Meeting.
