City Council Decision
City Council on August 25, 26, 27 and 28, 2014, adopted the following:
1. City Council request the Toronto Police Services Board to initiate discussions with the Province of Ontario, in order to consider amending the relevant legislation to accommodate the Vancouver model for Paid Duty, and report back to the first Audit Committee meeting of 2015.
2. City Council request the City Manager, in consultation with the Chair, Toronto Police Services Board, to meet with the Province of Ontario to request that the City of Toronto be allowed to consider all options related to Paid Duty, inclusive of the Vancouver model, and report back to the first Executive Committee meeting of 2015.

That City Council delete the Executive Committee Recommendation and instead adopt the following:
1. City Council request the Toronto Police Services Board to initiate discussions with the Province of Ontario, in order to consider amending the relevant legislation to accommodate the Vancouver model for Paid Duty, and report back to the first Audit Committee meeting of 2015.
2. City Council request the City Manager, in consultation with the Chair, Toronto Police Services Board, to meet with the Province of Ontario to request that the City of Toronto be allowed to consider all options related to Paid Duty, inclusive of the Vancouver model, and report back to the first Executive Committee meeting of 2015.
