City Council Decision
City Council on May 6, 7 and 8, 2014, adopted the following:
1. City Council establish the position of "Photo Laureate of Toronto" on terms and conditions similar to that of the Poet Laureate provided that there be no cash prize and the photographs be forwarded to Toronto Archives to be made available to the public.
2. City Council request the Executive Director, Economic Development and Culture, to seek sponsorship to cover any costs related to the position of Photo Laureate.
3. City Council request the General Manager, Economic Development and Culture to develop terms of reference for the position with a view to nominating the first Toronto Photo Laureate in early 2015.

That motion 1 by Councillor Mihevc be amended by adding the words "and by making sponsorship a condition of approval of the Photo Laureate position" so that the motion would now read:
That City Council request the Exeuctive Director, economic Development and Culture, to seek sponsorshiop to cover any costs related to the position of Photo Laureate and by making sponsorship a condition of approval of the Photo Laureate position.

That City Council amend Recommendation 1 by adding the words "provided that there be no cash prize and the photographs be forwarded to Toronto Archives to be made available to the public" so that it now reads as follows:
