The Toronto and East York Community Council:
1. Directed the Manager, Heritage Preservation Services to assess the heritage value of 698, 700 and 704 Spadina Avenue and 54 Sussex Avenue and report back to Toronto and East York Community Council regarding the appropriateness of Heritage Designation.

Summary
I am writing to formally request that 698, 700 and 704 Spadina Avenue and 54 Sussex Avenue be considered for listing and designation as Heritage properties.
These properties are being considered as a potential site for redevelopment. The evaluation of these properties by Heritage Preservation Services will inform the ongoing pre-application consultation.
The Victorian corner building is of particular concern because it is home to Ten Editions Bookstore and was identified in the Harbord Village Heritage Conservation District Plan, Phase 2 (page 31), as having contextual value for the HCD that should be dealt with either under Part IV of the Ontario Heritage Act or as part of a separate commercial HCD.
