Origin

(November 16, 2015) Letter from Councillor Paul Ainslie, Scarborough East - Ward 43

Summary

With this letter I am asking the Board of Health through the office of our Medical Officer of Health to request information on the comparative data utilized by Local Health Integration Networks most commonly known as LHINS to distribute capital and operating dollars to our local hospitals from the Ontario Ministry of Health.

The purpose of the update is to provide comparative data on the scope of categories supported through the Local Health Integration Networks, over the last 10 years with a focus on how capital and operating dollars are disbursed throughout the different networks.

This information is important to understand how our residents are being supported and to ensure that the needed funding is reaching our local hospitals.

I look forward to hearing your report at the Board of Health to ensure that the information is made available to all Members of Council.
