Community Council Decision

North York Community Council directed that:

 

1.         City Planning staff schedule a community consultation meeting for the lands at 755 Steeles Avenue West together with the Ward Councillor.

 

2.         City Planning staff give notice for the community consultation meeting to landowners and residents within 120 metres of the site and that the notice area of the community consultation meeting be extended to include, in addition to the 120 metre notice area, all landowners and residents in the area from Bathurst Street, to the west, the rear lot lines of the lots on Regatta Crescent, Elise Terrace and Donnalyn Drive, and the southerly lot line of Moore Park, to the south, Cactus Avenue to the east; and that the applicant pay the City for the costs associated with extending the notice area.

 

3.         City Clerk's staff give notice for the public meeting under the Planning Act according to the regulations of the Planning Act.

Summary

This application proposes a 10-storey, 124-unit, residential building, twenty-eight 4-storey stacked, back-to-back townhouses and a 1-storey commercial (retail) building on the site of an existing 15-storey apartment building, at 755 Steeles Avenue West.  Vehicular access will continue to be provided by two existing driveways from Steeles Avenue West and Village Gate.

 

This report provides preliminary information on the above-noted application and seeks Community Council's directions on further processing of the application and on the community consultation process.

 

It is intended that a community consultation meeting be scheduled in consultation with the Ward Councillor.  A Final Report and Public Meeting under the Planning Act to consider this application is targeted for the third quarter of 2015 provided any required information is submitted by the applicant in a timely manner.

That North York Community Council:

 

1.         Adopt the staff recommendations in the Recommendations Section of the report (December 8, 2014) from the Director, Community Planning, North York District, with Recommendation 2 being amended to include the following:

 

"That the notice area of the community consultation meeting be extended to include, in addition to the 120 metre notice area, all landowners and residents in the area from Bathurst Street, to the west; the rear lot lines of the lots on Regatta Crescent, Elise Terrace and Donnalyn Drive, and the southerly lot line of Moore Park, to the south; Cactus Avenue to the east; and that the applicant pay the City for the costs associated with extending the notice area."
