City Council on March 31 and April 1, 2016, adopted the following:

 

1.  City Council direct that no further funds be paid to the Councillor for the current submitted legal invoice beyond the $3,050.00 eligible for reimbursement under Council's Policy.

2 - Motion to Amend Item moved by Councillor Glenn De Baeremaeker (Redundant)

That City Council authorize the payment of $7,204.75 in excess of the $20,000.00 limit under Council's Policy, so that the reimbursement of the Councillor for the current submitted legal invoice will be $10,254.75.

Speaker Nunziata ruled motion 2 by Councillor De Baeremaeker redundant due to Council's adoption of motion 1 by Councillor Carroll.

Speaker Nunziata ruled that Councillor Crisanti's proposed friendly amendment to Councillor De Baeremaeker's motion to include a review of the Policy was not in order as the Policy is not before Council.


Point of Privilege by Councillor Shelley Carroll

Councillor Carroll, rising on a Point of Privilege, stated that Councillor Holyday, in his remarks, had accused her changing things on the fly.  Councillor Carroll further stated that she is simply moving the wording that is in the report before Council.

Councillor Holyday, rising on a Point of Privilege, asked the Speaker to clarify the problem with his remarks.

Speaker Nunziata accepted the Points of Privilege and ruled that the wording of Councillor Carroll's motion is in the report before Council and that she is not moving things on the fly.

Councillor Carroll, rising on a Point of Privilege, stated that she resents the Councillor's characterization that she is meddling and further stated that the report before Council is an options report and she moved her motion based on options prepared by staff.


Point of Privilege by Councillor Stephen Holyday

Councillor Holyday, rising on a Point of Privilege, stated that he has been accused of maligning his colleague and does not believe that he has done so.

Councillor Nunziata accepted the Points of Privilege and asked Councillor Holyday to apologize to Councillor Carroll.
