The Budget Committee:

1.  Established two subcommittees to hear the public deputations on the 2018 Capital and Operating Budgets at Scarborough, North York, Etobicoke, North York and York Civic Centres and City Hall, and made appointments to the Subcommittees as follows:

a.  Budget Subcommittee for City Hall, Scarborough Civic Centre and North York Civic Centre Consultation, with the membership of:

Councillor Crawford (Chair)

Councillor Burnside

Councillor Carroll

b.  Budget Subcommittee for Etobicoke Civic Centre, East York Civic Centre and York Civic Centre Consultation, with the membership of:

Councillor Campbell (Chair)

Councillor Di Ciano

Councillor Mihevc

Councillor Nunziata 

2.  Directed the City Clerk to schedule and give public notice of the meetings of the Subcommittees as follows:

City Council, at its meeting on May 24, 25, and 26, 2017, directed that the Budget Committee Public Presentation meetings be held on January 8, 9 and 10, 2018 (EX25.18).

It is important that the 2018 Budget Process is widely accessible, and that the public knows well in advance when and where they may make presentations to the Budget Committee.

I am therefore recommending that in order to hear from the greatest number of people, that two Budget Subcommittees be established to hear public presentations in different locations across the City.

The Subcommittees will report to the Budget Committee on their activities as part of the 2018 Budget Process.
