City Council on January 31, 2017, adopted the following:
1. City Council direct the General Manager, Children's Services to send an invitation to the Federal Government to join the Toronto Child and Family Network.

Committee Recommendations
The Community Development and Recreation Committee recommends that:
1. City Council direct the General Manager, Children's Services to send an invitation to the Federal Government to join the Toronto Child and Family Network.

The Community Development and Recreation Committee:
1. Requested the General Manager, Children's Services to report to the Community Development and Recreation Committee by end of the second quarter 2017 on:
a. the top three priorities of "Raising the Village: Improving the Outcomes for Toronto's Children and Families"; and
b. the number of priority centres which exist in these areas with very high inequities and low participation in sports and arts.
The following gave a presentation to the Community Development and Recreation Committee on Raising the Village: Improving Outcomes for Toronto's Children and Families:
- the General Manager, Children's Services; and
- the Policy Development Officer, Children's Services.
Summary
The General Manager, Children's Services will give a presentation on the recently launched initiative Raising the Village: Improving Outcomes for Toronto's Children and Families, which uses data to better understand the well-being of children and families in Toronto. The presentation will include an overview of the initiative including how the child well-being indicators were developed, as well as a walk-through of the website, and the various data and research tools available.
