City Council Decision

City Council on April 26, 27 and 28, 2017, adopted the following:

 

1.  City Council appoint Matthew Pegg to the position of Fire Chief and General Manager, Toronto Fire Services for the City of Toronto, with such appointment to be effective, subject to and following written acceptance by Mr. Pegg of the terms and conditions of a contract of employment offered by the City.

 

2.  City Council authorize the Deputy City Manager, Cluster B to negotiate terms and conditions of employment with Mr. Pegg.

 
3.  City Council authorize the appropriate City officials to take the necessary action to give effect  to Council's decision, including the introduction in Council of the necessary bill to appoint Matthew Pegg as Fire Chief under the Fire Protection and Prevention Act, 1997.

 
4.  City Council authorize the public release of the name and curriculum vitae summary of the Fire Chief and General Manager, Toronto Fire Services, contained in Confidential Attachment 1 to the report (April 26, 2017) from the City Manager.
