City Council Decision
City Council on January 31, 2017, adopted the following:
1. City Council authorize the General Manager, Parks, Forestry and Recreation, to accept a donation of $0.100 million from Toronto resident Marlene Zaretsky, through the Toronto Parks and Trees Foundation, for enhancements to the existing playground in Cawthra Playground, Ward 21, in compliance with the City's Policy on Donations for Community Benefits.
2. City Council authorize the General Manager, Parks, Forestry and Recreation, to negotiate and enter into a donor agreement for the $0.100 million donation from Marlene Zaretsky for enhancements to Cawthra Playground, Ward 21, on terms and conditions satisfactory to the General Manager, Parks, Forestry and Recreation and in a form satisfactory to the City Solicitor.

Committee Recommendations
The Parks and Environment Committee recommends that:
1. City Council authorize the General Manager, Parks, Forestry and Recreation, to accept a donation of $0.100 million from Toronto resident Marlene Zaretsky, through the Toronto Parks and Trees Foundation, for enhancements to the existing playground in Cawthra Playground, Ward 21, in compliance with the City's Policy on Donations for Community Benefits.

Summary
The purpose of this report is to seek approval from City Council to accept a donation and enter into a donor agreement with Marlene Zaretsky, a Toronto resident, for the revitalization of Cawthra Playground. The scope of work will include replacing the sand substrate with an AODA-compliant rubberized surface, adding additional AODA-compliant play equipment, including a new junior play structure, while incorporating an existing and functional play structure for older children.
