Committee Decision
The Toronto Accessibility Advisory Committee recommends to the Executive Committee that:
1. City Council request the City Clerk to use all reasonable efforts in election recruitment to achieve the goal of hiring a number of persons with disabilities for election work that is reflective of representation in the general population.
2. City Council request the City Clerk to review options for the creation of a dedicated fund to assist Toronto municipal candidates for the upcoming 2018 and future elections to provide accessibility accommodations for candidates, campaign volunteers, and the general public to promote greater civic participation and an enhanced democracy.

The Deputy City Clerk, Elections Services, City Clerk's Office will give a presentation and overview of the 2018 Election Accessibility Plan, which is organized into 6 key components: Public Consultation, Communication and Information, Candidates, Voting Places, Accessible Customer Service and Voting Options. The presentation will also include information about the new Election Home Visit Pilot Program.
