Committee Decision
The Executive Committee:
1. Requested the General Manager, Shelter, Support and Housing Administration to:
a. consult with the Toronto Accessibility Advisory Committee, the disability community and appropriate stakeholders in the decision making process in the first quarter of 2019, in the development of new Design Guidelines that will apply to all new City funded shelter infrastructure and redevelopment; and
b. undertake consultations on proposed changes to application forms for rent-geared-to-income (RGI) units, modified units, and additional bedroom requests with the Responsible Personal Accessibility in Toronto Housing (R-PATH) Committee, a resident-led group that works with Toronto Community Housing Corporation (TCHC) to improve the quality of life for people with disabilities that apply.
