Summary

As you know, the Lawrence Heights community has been affected by far too many shootings and critical incidents. The gun violence that has occurred recently is extremely alarming and requires an immediate and comprehensive response. In an effort to reduce the mobility of perpetrators of violence in the neighbourhood, I am requesting that Transportation Services review the installation of speed bumps on all 5 roads leading out of Lawrence Heights. Other cities have witnessed an immediate reduction in serious crime from such initiatives. While analysis from the Transportation department has not supported such measures from a traffic flow perspective, I request that these methods be implemented from a CPTED angle.
