Origin
Summary
Last year I formed the Ward 11 Pedestrian Safety and Cycling Committee (PSCC) with the purpose of identifying ways to create a safe pedestrian and cycling environment within Ward 11. Made up of stakeholders from across Ward 11, the PSCC has been meeting monthly since September 2017, putting in countless hours of their time to help develop the action plan being brought forward today.
The report, Moving Forward: An Action Plan to Improve Safety and Opportunities for Pedestrians and Cyclists in Ward 11 ("Moving Forward"), is the culmination of the PSCC's work with 31 recommendations on how the City of Toronto can help foster a safe environment for pedestrians and cyclists travelling throughout Ward 11, as well as opportunities to improve or add new pedestrian and cycling infrastructure in the Ward.
On March 5, 2018 the PSCC formally presented Moving Forward to the General Manager of Transportation Services.
