Origin
Summary
As the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) operates a transit service on College Street, City Council approval for this item is required.
My office received a request for an accessible loading zone from Casa dos Açores, which is located at 1136 College Street. Casa dos Açores, established in 1985, is a community cultural hub, whose mission is to promote the heritage of Portugal's Azores region in Ontario. While the membership of this social club is diverse in terms of age, a sizeable portion of members are older adults, who are not able bodied. These members regularly attend functions/programming at Casa dos Açores and would benefit greatly from the presence of an accessible loading zone in the immediate vicinity.
