Community Council Decision

Etobicoke York Community Council, in accordance with the City's Public Appointments Policy:

 

1.  Appointed the following nominees to the Emery Village Business Improvement Area (BIA) Board of Management set out below at the pleasure of Etobicoke York Community Council, and for a term expiring at the end of the term of Council or as soon thereafter as successors are appointed:

 

            Emery Village:

            Carnovale, Silvio

            Contardi, Leonardo

            D'Aversa, Tony

            Dhillon, Harbhajan

            Lambrinos, Tim

            Ricci, Paolo

            Serebryany, Carmela

            Shepherd, Ralph

 

2. Refused the appointment of the following nominees:

 

     Emery Village:

     Pinto, Joseph

             Pinto, Maria

 

3.  Increased the Board's membership from 10 to 11.

 

4.  Directed the members of the Emery Village BIA to hold a meeting to elect or select other candidates for consideration by the Etobicoke York Community Council.

Etobicoke York Community Council recessed its public session and met in closed session to consider the above matter.

 

Etobicoke York Community Council reconvened in public session at 10:15 a.m.  Councillor Ford took the Chair and advised that the Community Council had completed its closed session consideration of confidential information related to this Item.  No motions were moved in Closed Session.  The Community Council would now proceed with the public debate on this Item.

That Etobicoke York Community Council:

 

1.  Amend the Recommendation contained in the report (January 23, 2019) from the Director, Business Growth Services, Economic Development and Culture, by:

 

a.  refusing the appointment of "Joseph Pinto and Maria Pinto"

 

b.  increasing the Board's membership from 10 to 11

 

and direct the members of the Emery Village BIA to hold a meeting to elect or select other candidates for consideration by the Etobicoke York Community Council.
