Scarborough Community Council:

 

1. Reduced the speed limit from 60 km/h to 50 km/h on the minor arterial road segments set out in Attachment 1 to the report dated November 15, 2019 from the Director, Project Design and Management, Transportation Services.

 

2. Reduced the speed limit from 60 km/h to 50 km/h on the collector road segments set out in Attachment 2 to the report dated November 15, 2019 from the Director, Project Design and Management, Transportation Services.

 

3. Reduced the speed limit from 50 km/h to 40 km/h on the collector road segments set out in Attachment 3 to the report dated November 15, 2019 from the Director, Project Design and Management, Transportation Services.

Summary

This staff report is about a matter for which Community Council has delegated authority to make a final decision, provided that it is not amended so that it varies with City policy or by-laws.

 

The purpose of this report is to recommend speed limit reductions on minor arterials and collector roadways in Scarborough Community Council area as part of the Vision Zero Road Safety Plan Speed Management Strategy.

That Scarborough Community Council:

 

1. Amend Attachment 3 to the report (November 15, 2019) from the Director, Project Design and Management, Transportation Services as follows:

 

a. Remove the line: "Add - Galloway Road between Lawrence Avenue East and Guildwood Parkway (40 km/hr speed limit)".

 

b. Add the following lines:

 

i. "Add - Galloway Road between Lawrence Avenue East and CN Rail (30 km/hr speed limit)"

 

ii. "Add - Galloway Road between CN Rail and Guildwood Parkway (40 km/hr speed limit)".

That Scarborough Community Council:

 

1. Reduce speed limits on minor arterial roads to new speed limits as specified in Attachment 1, "Proposed Speed Limits on Minor Arterial Roads in Ward 24 Scarborough-Guildwood".

 

2. Reduce speed limits on collector roads to new speed limits as specified in Attachment 2, "Proposed Speed Limits on collector roads in Ward 24 Scarborough-Guildwood".

 

3. Reduce speed limits on local roads to new speed limits as specified in Attachment 3, "Proposed Speed Limits on local roads in Ward 24 Scarborough-Guildwood".
