Community Council Decision

The Toronto and East York Community Council:

 

1. Requested the General Manager, Transportation Services to elevate the priority of signal installation at Power Street, Adelaide Street East and Richmond Street East as soon as possible and before the end of the fourth quarter of 2020, by either:

 

a. negotiating with the relevant developer of 48-54 Power Street to advance their obligatory signal installation as a requirement of their development approval; or

 

b. advancing the release of Section 37 funding in consultation with the Ward Councillor to prioritize advancing the signal installation.

Summary

At its meeting on June 25, 2019, Toronto and East York Community Council directed Transportation Services to review and implement temporary safety improvements on Power Street, between Adelaide Street East and Richmond Street East, prior to signal installation in 2021.  This report provides an overview of the safety review and temporary safety measures undertaken by Transportation Services.

That the Toronto and East York Community Council:

 

1. Request the General Manager, Transportation Services to elevate the priority of signal installation at Power Street, Adelaide Street East and Richmond Street East as soon as possible and before the end of Q4 of 2020 by either:

 

a. Negotiating with the relevant developer of 48-54 Power Street to advance their obligatory signal installation as a requirement of their development approval or;

 

b. Advancing the release of Section 37 funding in consultation with the Ward Councillor to prioritize advancing the signal installation.
