RA14.1 - Toronto Parking Authority Real Estate Program

Board Decision

The Board of Directors, CreateTO:

 

1. Requested the Chief Executive Officer, CreateTO, in consultation with the Executive Director, Corporate Real Estate Management and the President, Toronto Parking Authority (TPA), to ensure that any redevelopment or disposition of TPA property include provisions that meet or exceed the Toronto Green Building Standard.

 

2.  Requested the Chief Executive Officer, CreateTO, in consultation with the Deputy City Manager, Internal Corporate Services, the Director, Environment and Energy, and the President, Toronto Parking Authority (TPA), to ensure that the work of the City’s Environment and Energy Division with respect to TransformTO be incorporated and leveraged in the TPA Real Estate Strategy to deliver additional environmental, social and environmental benefits to the City and to report back to the Board of Directors, CreateTO in the fourth quarter of 2020 as part of the TPA Real Estate Strategy.

 

3.  Requested the Chief Executive Officer, CreateTO to include the strategies that will be used to achieve new affordable housing, in the report requested in the fourth quarter 2020 on the TPA Real Estate Strategy.

 

4.  Requested the Chief Executive Officer, CreateTO to ensure that all future CreateTO initiated projects meet or exceed the Toronto Green Building Standard and that all future reports list opportunities to address climate change and city building.

The Director, Portfolio Execution, CreateTO gave a presentation on Toronto Parking Authority Real Estate Program.

Summary

The Director, Portfolio Execution, CreateTO will provide an update on CreateTO’s management of the Toronto Parking Authority’s real estate portfolio. In 2018, the Toronto Parking Authority was integrated into the City-wide Real Estate program. CreateTO provides portfolio strategy, execution, and development services to the Toronto Parking Authority as a client.

Motions

1 - Motion to Amend Item moved by Dennis Fotinos (Amended)

That:

That the motion by Dennis Fotinos be amended by adding the following:

 

1.  The Chief Executive Officer, CreateTO, be requested to include the strategies that will be used to achieve new affordable housing, in the report requested in the fourth quarter of 2020 on the TPA Real Estate Strategy.
