City Council Decision

City Council on May 5 and 6, 2021, adopted the following:

 

1.  City Council urge the Bank of Canada and the Royal Canadian Mint to ensure, in future issuance of Canadian currency, that it better reflects the values of the multicultural, gender diverse and multiracial society Canada has become.
 

2.  City Council request the City Manager to correspond with the Minister of Finance, the Bank of Canada, the Royal Canadian Mint, and Montreal City Council for their support.

Motion to Waive Referral (Carried)

Speaker Nunziata advised Council that the provisions of Chapter 27, Council Procedures, require that Motion MM32.4 be referred to the Executive Committee. A two-thirds vote of the Council Members present is required to waive referral.
