City Council Decision

City Council on October 2, 3 and 4, 2012, deferred consideration of  Item CC26.1 to the November 27 and 28, 2012 Council meeting and:

 

1.         directed the City Solicitor to submit a draft of the by-law to be enacted pursuant to Part 2 of Council Decision EX 20.12 (June 6-8, 2012) to the November 14, 2012 meeting of the Public Works and Infrastructure Committee for public deputations;

 

2.         directed that consideration of such draft by-law by the Public Works and Infrastructure Committee shall be consistent with the requirements of Section 27-144 of the Toronto Municipal Code; and

 

3.         directed the General Manager, Solid Waste Management Services, to report to the November 14, 2012 meeting of Public Works and Infrastructure Committee on any issues concerning such draft by-law, including an implementation plan, and on any feedback from industry consultations on such draft bylaw undertaken by the General Manager, Solid Waste Management Services, in advance of Public Works and Infrastructure Committee's November 2012 meeting.

Report of Committee of the Whole

October 2, 2012 - 7:30 p.m. - Speaker Nunziata advised that City Council had completed its closed session consideration of CC26.1 - Council’s June 6-8, 2012 Decision to Prohibit Single-Use Plastic Carryout Shopping Bags.  City Council considered this item in closed session, but no motions were made on the Item.  The Speaker advised that the public debate on this Item will only take place after City Council has considered the Mayor's second key matter, MM26.16 on October 3, 2012 after 2:00 p.m.
