City Council on February 20 and 21, 2013, adopted the following:

 

1.         City Council appoint the following Members to the Golden Horseshoe Food and Farming Action Plan Alliance for a term of office until November 30, 2014, and until a successor is appointed:

 

Councillor Mary Fragedakis

Councillor John Parker, as an alternate

City Council, during its review of the Order Paper, removed Striking Committee Item ST9.4 from the Committee's jurisdiction and brought it forward to City Council for consideration.

The Striking Committee recommends that:

 

1.         City Council appoint the following Members to the Golden Horseshoe Food and Farming Action Plan Alliance for a term of office until November 30, 2014, and until a successor is appointed:

Councillor John Parker, as an alternate

The Chair called for nominations.

 

Councillor Karen Stintz nominated Councillor John Parker.  Councillor Stintz subsequently withdrew the nomination.

Councillor David Shiner nominated Councillor Mary Fragedakis.

Councillor David Shiner nominated Councillor Parker as an alternate.

 

The Chair called for further nominations.

 

The Chair called for further nominations a second time.

 

The Chair called for further nominations a third and final time.

 

The Chair closed the nominations.

 

The vote for nominees Councillor Fragedakis and Councillor Parker, as an alternate, carried and the Members are recommended for appointment to the Golden Horseshoe Food and Farming Action Plan Alliance.

Summary

The City Clerk has received a request for a City of Toronto representative on the Golden Horseshoe Food and Farming Action Plan Alliance.  This is a new appointment.

 

Members of Council are being canvassed for their interest in serving on the Golden Horsehoe Food and Farming Action Plan Alliance for a term ending November 30, 2014.  A list of Interested Members will be distributed under separate cover.
