City Council Decision

City Council on March 20, 2014, adopted the following:

 

A.        City Council advise the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario that it has no objection to the following requests for:

14.       Two temporary extensions of the proposed licensed area for the Real Sports Bar & Grill located at 15 York Street during the 2014 NHL and NBA Playoffs, from April 17 to April 30, 2014, or April 16 to April 29, 2014, and May 1 to May 14, 2014, or April 30 to May 13, 2014, (depending on any potential change to the schedule of games), as outlined in the letter from Leanne Hederson, Office Coordinator; and that:

 

-           the location of these events will take place on Bremner Boulevard, directly outside the Air Canada Centre (west side) and Maple Leaf Square (east side);

 

-           the sale of alcohol will be between 5:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m., but that the times may vary due to the release of the NBA schedule and start times of events; and

 

-           tiered seating to be used for all dates, with the set up and tear down to commence from 7:00 a.m. to 11:59 p.m., and closure of a portion of Bremner Boulevard as required.

 

B.        City Council:

 

1.         Not approve a temporary liquor licence extension until 4:00 a.m. for the following establishments during the North by Northeast Music and Film Festival and Conference to be held from June 18 to June 23, 2014:

3.         Not approve a temporary extension for the Monarch Tavern, 12 Clinton Street, during the Taste of Little Italy to be held from Friday, June 13, 2014 to Sunday, June 15, 2014;
