ST1.2 - 2015 Schedule of Meetings

City Council Decision

City Council, on December 2 and 3, 2014, adopted the following:

 

1.         City Council amend the purpose of the Budget Committee dates on January 26, 27, 27, 28 and 29, 2015 to include budget briefing and service standards review.

 

2.         City Council approve the 2015 meeting schedule dates as amended by Part 1 above and that the published schedule serve as notice for these meetings.

 

3.         City Council request the City Clerk to distribute the approved schedule to the City's agencies and special purpose bodies with a request that they:

 

a.         avoid scheduling meetings, whenever possible, that conflict with the approved schedule;

 

b.         avoid scheduling public meetings, forums, public consultations and large scale meetings on days of cultural or religious significance as noted in the approved schedule; and

 

c.         avoid scheduling their board meetings at the same time so there will be no overlapping Board meetings wherever possible.

Councillor Mammoliti, rising on a Point of Order, stated that Councillor Karygiannis had asked questions of the City Clerk on this Item and Councillor Mammoliti believed that those answers had not yet been provided.

The Striking Committee recommends that:

2.         City Council request the City Clerk to distribute the approved schedule to the City's agencies and special purpose bodies with a request that they:

That City Council amend the 2015 Schedule of Meetings by moving:

 

a.         the Board of Health meeting on September 21 to September 22 with a start time of 9:30 a.m.; and

 

b.         the Executive Committee meeting on September 22 to September 21.


2 - Motion to Adopt Item as Amended moved by Deputy Mayor Denzil Minnan-Wong (Carried)

That the Striking Committee recommend that: 

 

1.         City Council approve the 2015 meeting schedule dates in Attachment 1 to the report (November 28, 2014) from the City Clerk as amended and that the published schedule serve as notice for these meetings.

 

2.         City Council request the City Clerk to distribute the approved schedule to the City's agencies and special purpose bodies with a request that they:

 

a.         avoid scheduling meetings, whenever possible, that conflict with the approved schedule; and

 

b.         avoid scheduling public meetings, forums, public consultations and large scale meetings on days of cultural or religious significance as noted in the approved schedule.
