CC14.1 - Results of Collective Bargaining Negotiations with Toronto Civic Employees' Union, Local 416 - CUPE

City Council Decision

City Council on February 29, 2016, adopted the following:

 

1.  City Council ratify and approve the Confidential Attachment 1, Memorandum of Settlement dated February 19, 2016, between the City of Toronto and the Toronto Civic Employees' Union, Local 416 to effect a new collective agreement, as attached to the report (February 25, 2016) from the City Manager and the Director, Employee and Labour Relations.

 

2.  City Council authorize staff to make the necessary amendments to rates of pay, benefits and other issues identified as agreed changes in the new Memorandum of Settlement.

 

3.  City Council authorize staff to make the necessary adjustments to the 2016 Non-Program Expenditure Budget and Operating Budgets of the Divisions to reflect provisions of the Memorandum of Settlement.

 

4.  City Council authorize the public release of the confidential information in Confidential Attachment 1 to the report (February 25, 2016) from the City Manager and the Director, Employee and Labour Relations at the conclusion of the Special Meeting.

 

5.  City Council authorize the public release of the confidential information in Confidential Attachment 2 to the report (February 25, 2016) from the City Manager and the Director, Employee and Labour Relations at the conclusion of the Special Meeting.

 

6.  City Council authorize the public release of the confidential labour relations information in Confidential Attachment 3 to the report (February 25, 2016) from the City Manager and the Director, Employee and Labour Relations, following the conclusion of collective bargaining with CUPE Local 79, including ratification and approval of all collective agreements, by Council, and the completion of all related proceedings.

 

Confidential Attachments 1 and 2 to the report (February 25, 2016) from the City Manager and the Director, Employee and Labour Relations, are now public in their entirety and can be accessed under Background Information (City Council).

 

Confidential Attachment 3 to the report (February 25, 2016) from the City Manager and the Director, Employee and Labour Relations, remains confidential in its entirety at this time, in accordance with the provision of the City of Toronto Act, 2006, as it contains information about labour relations and employment negotiations.  The confidential labour relations information in Confidential Attachment 3 to the report (February 25, 2016) from the City Manager and the Director, Employee and Labour Relations, will be made public following the conclusion of collective bargaining with CUPE Local 79, including ratification and approval of all collective agreements, by Council, and the completion of all related proceedings.

City Council recessed its public session and met as Committee of the Whole in closed session on February 29, 2016, and considered confidential information on this Item as it relates to the labour relations and employee negotiations with Toronto Civic Employees' Union Local 416 (CUPE).
