City Council Decision

City Council on March 31 and April 1, 2016, adopted the following:

 

1.  City Council appoint the following candidates to the Waterfront Toronto Board, at pleasure of Council, for a term of office ending on March 31, 2019:

 

- Mohamed Dhanani

- Stephen Diamond

- Susan Henderson

 

2.  City Council direct that the confidential information contained in Confidential Attachments 1, 2, and 3 to the report (March 11, 2016) from the City Clerk remain confidential in their entirety as they relate to personal matters about identifiable individuals being considered for appointment to the Waterfront Toronto Board.

Mohamed Dhanani

 

Mohamed Dhanani is a seasoned executive and entrepreneur who has a proven track record for being a relationship builder and problem solver who leads change through teamwork and helps organizations achieve high goals. Currently, he works as the Executive Officer of the Aga Khan Council for Canada, and previously served as the Strategy Advisor to Ontario's Deputy Premier. Mohamed has served as Board Chair for the largest integrated health network in Canada. He obtained a Master's Degree in Public Health from Yale University, where he graduated with distinction.

 

Stephen Diamond

 

Stephen Diamond is President and CEO of Diamond Corp., a real estate development company, and Manager of the Whitecastle New Urban Fund. In this role, he creates value for investors, while delivering well-designed and innovative residential and mixed-use developments. In the past, Stephen served as partner at Diamond Fairbairn and as head of the Municipal Law and Planning Group at McCarthy Tétrault. He is actively involved in many community organizations, including the Sunnybrook Hospital Board and the Partnership to Advance Youth Employment Board, known as PAYE.

 

Susan (Susie) Henderson

 

Susie Henderson is President at Collins Barrow Toronto Infrastructure Advisory where she leads strategic, commercial, financial, regulatory, economic, and project management advisory in various infrastructure projects. She has more than 20 years of global experience in the infrastructure field. In addition to her Accounting degree, Susie has completed the globally-recognized Certified Practicing Accountant and Australian Institute of Company Directors Programs, and was a nominee for Ernst & Young's Entrepreneur Of The Year Award for her entrepreneurial approach in the mining sector.
