 The Toronto Accessibility Advisory Committee recommends to the Executive Committee that:

 

1.  The General Manager, Shelter, Support and Housing Administration be directed to provide an update to the Toronto Accessibility Advisory Committee at its September 27, 2017 meeting on the progress of accessibility in shelters, particularly with regard to shelters in Toronto that are for both men and women.

Summary

Member, Terri-Lynn Langdon requests that the Committee discuss accessibility in shelters and requests that Shelter, Support and Housing Administration update the Toronto Accessibility Advisory Committee on the progress of accessibility, particularly to shelters in Toronto that are for both men and women. The purpose is also to revisit previous agenda items to provide disability specific services in shelters (i.e. attendant care). Please see housing working group meeting minutes
