City Council Decision

City Council on April 26, 27 and 28, 2017, adopted the following:

 

1.  City Council direct the Chief Planner and Executive Director, City Planning to report back to the Planning and Growth Management Committee in September 2017 on the creation of a City-wide heritage survey to 'list' all buildings that have potential heritage value, such report to include:

 

a.  a timeline for enactment of the survey;


b.  a plan to conduct public consultation;


c.  a system of prioritization for buildings and areas under threat of development;


d.  an engagement plan to recruit and train local volunteers to assist in the survey; and


e.  any additional costs associated with the survey.

Motion to Waive Referral (Carried)

Speaker Nunziata advised Council that the provisions of Chapter 27, Council Procedures, require that Motion MM28.25 be referred to the Planning and Growth Management Committee. A two-thirds vote of the Council Members present is required to waive referral.
