Summary

The property is located in the heart of the Annex neighbourhood, adjacent to the East Annex Heritage Conservation District, the Madison Avenue Heritage Conservation District and the forthcoming West Annex Heritage Conservation District.

The Annex is an area with distinct heritage considerations and districts and a rich architectural history. As a part of its history, the Annex has been at the forefront of balancing downtown intensification and the protection of historical neighbourhoods. Its unique location has created a mixture of apartment buildings and low-rise residential. However, despite this mix, there are few low-rise multi-unit apartment buildings, outside of sub-divided single family dwellings. 65 Kendal is one of the few examples of this type of residential built form in the neighbourhood.

The Annex Residents' Association Heritage Committee Chair has requested a review of this property.
