Origin

(February 14, 2019) Letter from Councillor Bradford, Ward 19 Beaches-East York

Summary

As the newly elected Councillor for Ward 19 Beaches-East York, I am honoured to represent such a diverse and engaged Ward. I love my community and look forward to working together with my Community Council, Council, Committee and Board colleagues to make the City a safer and more livable place to call home.

As a part of my commitment to residents in my Ward, I will be hosting community meetings regularly to engage directly with them on important City issues. Engaging directly with community members and allowing them an opportunity to meet with me to discuss issues close to home is an effort that I think will make our community and myself as Councillor, stronger.

I would like to reinforce my commitment to direct engagement by requesting of the Clerk, a report on the viability of hosting at least one meeting of TEYCC annually at the East York Civic Centre. Not only will this increase engagement with a community that otherwise might not be able to travel the distance to Toronto City Hall, but it will provide important local context for my Community Council colleagues.
